| Anna Paquin is a New Zealand-Canadian film and TV actress who is known for her performances in movies like The PianoFly Homeaway and X-Men.She started her film career as a child artist for The Pianofor which she won the Oscar Award for the Best Actress in a Supporting Role at eleven. She never planned to be an actress however, fate determined that she should. To remain focused on her academics she declined numerous job offers following the success of her debut movie. Following a highly successful debut film aged 14 she was offered roles on Jane Eyre as well as the series Fly Away Homefilm. The year 2000 saw her play Rogue, the formidable mutant Roguein the X-Men X-Men film series. The role she took on catapulted to international fame. Her role was reprised in the role of Roguein sequels such as X2and X-Men The Last Stand.She has also had brief appearances on screen, most notably in Elaine Goodalein's Bury My Heart at Wounded Kneefor which she was awarded her first Emmynomination. In a matter of minutes, she was inundated by requests for acting roles on TV shows. |
