Maureen FitzSimons' early achievements in performing arts (now called Maureen O'Hara), would put her in America's eyes, into the category of child prodigy. But for a person from Irish background, surrounded by talented parents and a loving family, those were not innate traits. Maureen came to this loving haven, August 17, 1920. She was raised by her parents and family members. Marguerita LIlburn FitzSimons, the mother of her. She was a accomplished contralto. Her father, Charles FitzSimons, managed an enterprise in Dublin as well as owned a part of the renowned Irish football team "The Shamrock Rovers." Maureen FitzSimons was the daughter of Charles FitzSimons. Peggy, Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons complete this wonderful family. Maureen was a star athlete and enjoyed playing rough sports. Furthermore she was gifted to act. That was apparent when she was awarded each Feis in drama and theatre the Irish had to provide.
